I Shall Forget You Presently
I directed this production for Dysfunctional Theatre Project, and was a co-creator with Amy Overman, the company’s artistic director. I am incredibly proud of how this came out. A very original piece for me and for Dysfunctional Theatre Project.
More of a concept piece, we took many poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay and staged them in a way to help highlight the beauty of her poetry. We also created some short vignettes to help re-enact certain times in her life that were influential, and adapted some of her work into short theatrical scenes. The goal was to invigorate a new love of poetry with our audience, and to revive a love for Millay. Based on reviews and feedback we accomplished this. The response has been huge.
